This is one of the last recordings of Maestro Anton Guadagno about one month before he passed away (2002). The first part of this aria was recorded 1998 in Poland and the second part was recorded 2002 in the Czech Republic. The second part is extremely difficult; when I finished singing, Maestro was jumping up and down and yelled “brava”. This was an incredible honour for a young singer like myself and I thank him from my heart. I wanted to continue studying with him but unfortunately, there was no more opportunity to do so…

婚約者が、他の女性と駆け落ちしたと思い込んだエルヴィラは、嘆き悲しみ彷徨っている。幸せだった日々を思い出し、彼に来て欲しいと歌う。
大指揮者アントン グアダーニョ先生との録音。前半は１９９８年ポーランド、後半は２００２年チェコで、先生の急逝わずか１ヶ月前の録音です。この曲は演奏が非常に難しいです。私が後半を歌い終えた時、グアダーニョ先生は、指揮台の上で軽く飛び跳ねながら「ブラーヴァ、ブラーヴァ！」と叫ばれました。あの時のことを私は決して忘れないでしょう。非常な光栄で、ありがたい限りです。先生のもとで更に勉強して、次の録音にはもっと上手に歌いたい、と思っていましたが…その機会はもうありませんでした。先生はこの曲の作曲者ベッリーニと同じくシチリアのご出身。先生のこの曲への深い愛情は、経験の浅い若い歌手であった私にも伝わったような気がします。
